It has been ridiculously hot here… it is already hot, but throw on some heat waves too, and we pretty much hate the weather from May through, ummm, whenever it cools down.
Cedar and I went to the beach and ice/custard treat.
A hot “hike,” by which I mean a walk through the trees and swamp.
An EPIC bookstore, in which I got lost and had what I thought would be a panic breakdown before I emerged.
Matt and I spent two lovely days at the Florida Folk Festival. It inspired us in so many ways.
Just a pretty picture of the river.
While Matt was on leave, Cedar went to Boy Scouts summer camp, and the remaining three of us had a very relaxing, quiet time together. We went to the beach, went to one of the many Springs around here (these are SUPER BLUE, with 70 degree water). We brought our paddleboard and kayak and paddled the river in addition to swimming in the spring.
Matt and I enjoyed some events in downtown Jax, with music and community. I really like how easy-going and pleasant these Jacksonville events are. We like seeing music and learning about the many local bands here. These event pictured below are the Riverwalk “Sip and Stroll” and the Riverside Arts Market.
We got some of what was claimed to be “pizza exactly like what you’d find on the streets of Naples”. HUH. I deleted the selfie I took of my face, which was much less happy than his.
This is the only summer camp photo I have of Cedar… the one I took when I picked him up.
