First we visited Lake Bled, a popular tourist destination that is beautiful but that I hated. There were a ton of people there, all just walking around the busy lake with a ton of cars, bikers, and other people. We got in, saw it, and got out.
Kranjska Gora was a little mountain town at the base of the mountain pass, with a super clean river, a beautiful lake, and good Slovenian food (meat, potatoes and kraut!).
We were amazed that salt was provided at the table, and free tap water, too! This NEVER happens in Italy.
Our apartment was perfect, with a sweet family who hosted us. The lady is from Sacramento and married a Slovenian two years ago. It was really neat to connect with her. Also, I beat Matt at cribbage!
