Matt and I realized we live very close to a nice city with a lovely lungomare (seafront promenade). If we had realized the loveliness of this lungomare sooner, we would have spent time here this summer strolling along the sea with other Italians, slowly enjoying life and each other, kissing at the viewpoints, and holding hands. Kids play, families connect, parks and basketball courts are full, and restaurants, bars and gelaterias line the path. The piazza at the end awaits with food and shops. This is the heart of the Italian town. We are back to Covid restrictions at the moment, so the food is closed and the path is quiet. But we will return, and so will life.
