Ashton and I went on a girls’ overnight trip on the island of Ischia. The region of Campania is not allowing travel beyond our provinces (like a county in the US), but Ischia is in our province! Ischia is known for its thermal springs, lovely beaches, and lush plant life. We took the ferry over from the port near our house, then took the bus to get around on the island. We stayed at a very nice hotel with a restaurant, thermal pools and a spa! With it being the off-season and with nobody traveling due to Covid, we had the place to ourselves. The next day we spent the day wandering around the beautiful botanic garden Giardini la Mortella. On the ferry ride home, we caught a great sunset with Ischia in the center. Though the island was strangely deserted, it was relaxing and fun to have a mini-traveling experience.
