We took a 10 day road trip up to Northeast Italy and back for summer leave. The first stop was Orvieto, a town in Umbria that was a mid-point for a long haul up to Venice. We wandered, saw the sights, dealt with unloading our stuff in a tiny alley and parking outside the town (Orvieto is a mostly pedestrian village), sweat in the heat, worried about Addie from her recent surgery, and ate the BEST carbonara. It’s always nice to have more days on a vacation, because the first day of a trip is often quite stressful. On to Venice!
