I wish I could have stayed longer in the Dolomites.  They are incredible.  Also northern Italy is amazing, too, with clean, cool air, safe driving, no trash, parks and bike trails, and even a way of speaking Italian that I can understand (it sounds like Spanish!).

Riva del Garda is a beautiful town with parks, paths, and shore on Lake Garda.  We did not love this place, though.  It didn’t feel Italian at all!  It was completely full of Germans, and everything felt fake and overpriced.  I couldn’t wait to get out of there.  Lake Garda is beautiful, and might be better in another season without tourists, but it was not for me.  We did find another lake nearby (Lago di Ledro) where we spent a day, and had a lovely time relaxing and renting a kayak and paddleboard there.
