First, Christmas at home with caramel rolls.

Next, an apartment in the city of Bologna for two nights.  Jess and kids had colds, but we walked and ate our way through this very hip city.

Then we headed south to Tuscany, to a town called Arezzo.  We just stayed for the afternoon here, enjoying the beautiful streets (where the film Life is Beautiful was filmed), eating treats, and visiting a Christmas market where the kids did a ride.

Finally, we went to our farmhouse Airbnb in Cortona for two nights, where Matt played music with some people, we walked through the little village, and we enjoyed a woodstove and rustic cabin with games and home-cooked meals.
