The kids and Jess got to experience the beautiful city of Prague with our wonderful lifelong friends from Kalispell, Montana. Alan and Sarah are travelling around the world for two years, and we met them for several days in Prague. We spent our days walking the cobblestone streets, admiring the amazingly beautiful architecture all around us, and appreciating the metro system of subways, trams, and buses that made it easy to get around. The weather was cool and rainy while we were there, with Fall very much in the air. The cathedrals and castle boast spires that are just so epic, and there are gargoyles and weird statues all around the city. We used a website called Atlas Obscura to find weird off-the-path attractions, like the Museum of Alchemy where we learned about old tunnels where alchemists worked in secret. We ate a lot of soup, goulash, tredlnik (chimney cakes), and wonderfully warm mead. Cedar got to spend three of his afternoons at Slusney yoyo shop (an amazing opportunity for him), we saw a marionette show that turned out to be an Italian opera, we journeyed through a really cool museum of film special effects, and, best of all, we did a FANTASTIC Escape Room. I cannot imagine living in such a clean, walkable, beautiful city.
Oh, the places I want to go……..!
