Typically I wouldn’t devote a whole blog post just to a family picnic, but I picked up my “real” camera for the first time in maybe a year, and I liked the photos. Similar to the lake, family picnics at Carney Park (a military park in a volcano) is another activity that really works for our family. It’s quiet there, with trees and space to run and play. It’s really just a park, which we would take for granted if we were in America… but here there aren’t many parks, and even when we do find one here it tends to be full of trash and/or full of people. Carney is blessedly empty, clean, spacious and quiet, which we like. We bring food, books, board games, scooters, frisbees, etc. We can swim in the pool there or rent corn-hole, and you can even camp there. It’s a lovely way to spend an evening of family togetherness.
