We have found that there are certain things that really work for our family, that bring us a sense of peace and unity, and that just work for each one of us.  The lake is one of them.  We went several times last summer and then twice so far this year, and we want to go back (we wanted to go this past weekend but the mountains’ stupid rain made it not work out!).  Matt is in his study crunch-time, so he sits in the shade and studies for hours, Addie gets to run around living a real dog life, and we swim, read, share food, talk, and play games together.  The air is fresh, the space is quiet, and the mountains and lake are beautiful.   We brought our friends there with us once, and the kids had a blast playing in the water and mud.
