A Carney Park picnic with friends, lots of kid-friend visits and sleepovers (including Ashton’s first ever 4-girl sleepover!), pool time, a date with Matt to a dinner-and-concert-fiasco-adventure, a beach trip, a hike that I lost the photos from (boo-hoo!), Cedar’s current obsession with skateboarding and scootering, and lots of board games with adult and kid friends.

I joined Matt on a Navy band gig at a village festival, got to eat a giant dinner with them beforehand, and wandered around enjoying the way Italians enjoy being together as a community (and not on their phones!) late into the night— they are so good at eating, laughing, talking, and being together.

We invited our Italian friends over for an American weekend of swimming at our base pools, seeing Matt’s band play at our community festival, and picnicking at Carney Park.

And Jess joined a free yoga class on base and enjoyed taking the class with other people from the Band community.
