Monte Tifata is only about 30 minutes from our home, it is a relatively short hike (although steep), it is easy to access, and it offers incredible views. It is a definitely a favorite (at least for Matt and I). After our hike, we went to a little shop to buy some salads to bring home. We couldn’t speak Italian with the sweet shop owner, but while he made the salads he fed us all a lot of samples of meats, cheese, and bread. Then he made the kids some pasta. Then he ran away from his food counter, found a little table and chairs and invited us (and the dog) to sit down to enjoy our food. He brought out his homemade wine and opened it for us right there, too. He wouldn’t take “no” for an answer, and we didn’t know how to speak to him to tell him we wanted to take the food home with us! We did pay for the food, of course, but it didn’t cost much. What a fun time of being treated with Neopolitan hospitality!
