Living here on base, in our opinion, has been really good for our kids. They have an old-fashioned-ish kind of life here, where they can walk to friends’ houses, to the pool, and to the stores. Even the friends who don’t live on base seem to come to base regularly for school and other activities. They each have a couple of good friends. One of Cedar’s friends loves yo-yos as much as Cedar does; they even performed in the school talent show! He had a birthday party and Cedar and I both got to go-cart! Another friend of his does Judo with him twice a week. I am friends with the moms, and sometimes share meals with them when our hubbies are out of town. I really enjoy being a mom who welcomes my kids’ friends into my home to relax, have fun, and sleep overnight. And, of course, the last photo shows our very best friend of all.
