The Path of the Gods is the most hiked, most talked about trail in this area, and is said to be one of the most beautiful trails in the world. Located on the Amalfi Coast, it follows the coast from about 650m above sea level in a small town called Bomerano, all the way down to Positano, a popular tourist destination on the sea. I read online that for centuries it was the only road that connected the villages of the Amalfi Coast. The trail was fairly full of people for our preference, even in March, but it was epic. For the last leg of what had been a moderate to easy hike, we walked down 1700 (yes, that is right) stairs to reach Positano. Our calves burned for days afterward; we all could hardly walk! We also spent hours that day driving up and down the chaotic, winding Amalfi Coast roads for this trip. All in all, I’m thankful we got to experience it, and will definitely go back.
