sea glass

Jun 13, 2018

There is a really nice little family living in the apartment above us.  The lady of the family, Sonja, is actually from the Seattle area, so we have lots of things to chat about.  One thing we have in common is a love of sea glass.  Sonja’s love goes way deeper than mine (she’s kind of obsessed with it), but I have some great memories of searching for sea glass on the shores of Port Townsend with my mothers.  We have a little bottle that displays a handful of tiny pieces of glass collected from those trips (one jar for all the trips combined).  Sonja found a beach here, however, that takes sea glass to a whole new level.  Large pieces, of all colors and including marbles and lots of pottery pieces, are everywhere on this beach.  The photos above show our haul from about two hours on the beach.  We need to go back soon (do either of my moms want to come out???!).
