Cedar turned five this weekend. Five. Sheesh, my boy is growing up.
We threw a party for him (his first birthday party ever) with a group of friends from our homeschool group. Lots of kids came– all different ages, most in costume and wielding swords at Cedar’s request– and played together wonderfully at a beautiful park. They brought gifts, one woman made us decorated cupcakes, another brought a snowcone machine, and I watched as their faces shone with joy as they sang to Cedar. I wish now that I would have remembered to use my camera during the party, but I did manage to capture a few photos. They all came, I’m fairly certain, because they like us. Us. Me. Just as we are. Even after less than 6 months of being here, I am humbled and grateful that we have friends who care about us, and that they would support my boy in this wonderful way.
And so happy to have this amazing little guy to watch grow.
