Sometimes when I’m tired and the day seems bleak and purposeless, I know it’s time to go outside. With kids in tow, we head for the park or the beach or wherever I can get to that isn’t me pining away inside my house, wising things were different. I bring my camera along, just in case. Thankfully we live in a place that is warm and sunny, full of life and beauty. I relax, soak up the healing sun, and remember the truth about myself, my life, my situation, my children. I am grateful to have discovered a hobby that helps me see the beauty around me.

These are beautiful, Jessica. Love the shadow created by that lovely tree in the first one. Love your take on this theme. Oh how I long to sit outside and soak up some sun!
I love the soft dreaminess of your photographs this week and that you have the sun to escape to when things are rough. And it's funny how they're always more rough the more tired we are.
I couldn't agree more—oh how we need those summer days and they seem so far away. I love the shadow from the tree—very cool. You inspire me to take more nature shots.
getting outside always changes me too.

So jealous you have a beach close by to escape to!
But I love the peaceful feeling I get when I look at these pictures. I want to lay right under that big tree and take a nap 🙂
Stunning images. WOW!! And I hear you. Being tired is often a sign I've been cooped up too long.
beautifully captured. And I hear you, there's something about the sun that livens me up. I also love it when I come home from the beach or hike on a sunny day and feel as if it gave me a good tired feeling–like I've been nourished.
These are gorgeous! Love that last one the most!
I so agree that photography helps to see the beauty in everything. I like the top photo of the tree and the afternoon sun. You are lucky to have the beauty of the outdoors so close to home.
