After reading several picture books about quilts and the stories they tell, Ashton and I are proudly and happily making one of our own.  It will be far from the perfect quilts made over long periods of time like those of my grandmothers, but rather a simply sewn blanket of fabric scraps saved from years of sewing dresses, skirts, pants, and doll blankets.  I am happy that the simple seams– without curves or corners– can be easily sewn by Ashton, which makes the project relaxed and fun for me.  We are both excited to see the final product.  I will be sure to share it with you when it is done.
