After a day or so of laying around not knowing what to do with herself, Grandma started thumbing through a crafting book. For the rest of her stay, our table was covered with materials– scissors, glue, paper of all sorts, stamps and ink, leaves and flowers, craft books, paints and pencils, and more. With focus, calm, and creative juices flowing, she and the kids made and made and made. I loved seeing our dining table so used, seeing my mother-in-law do what she loves to do, and seeing the neat things she and the kids created. I feel inspired to keep up the crafting with my kids on a daily basis.
