I want to share about myself, but it seems to me you know what I’m doing by what you see my kids doing. I’m on the other side of the photo: orchestrating, managing, guiding, feeding.
Matt and I have always shared a mutual interest in food, and together we’ve done a lot of learning and trying out different perspectives on what to eat. For some time now we have settled on one perspective that really feels like a fit for us. It is a culmination of all our past learning about the importance of food quality, eating fat, lowering carbs, and eating real food. It resonates with the lifestyle we are interested in: eating foods our bodies are designed for, exercising to be lean and strong, being barefoot, getting sleep. It is called the Paleo (as in paleolithic) diet, the diet of our ancestors. If you are interested you can learn about it from Loren Cordain, Robb Wolf, Mark Sisson, or many others.
So, when I’m not orchestrating the daily doings of my family, I’m generally found in the kitchen, doing my best to create paleo meals that keep us lean, full, and (we hope!) healthy enough to live long and active lives.
By the way, did you know we LOVE cast iron?
